Jim Zazenski

Challenge

Jim Zazenski, a personal friend of Josh’s, received custom paint work as a surprise gift from his girlfriend — Jim didn’t know the work was happening, or that he’d end up seeing it revealed at a major industry event.

Approach

A two-tone silver paint job with a separation stripe filled with lyrics from Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” and custom airbrush portraits of Springsteen and Clarence Clemons on the front fairing. Josh was representing Matrix Auto Paint at their SEMA 2010 booth and airbrushed the Springsteen/Clemons artwork live at the booth — without Jim knowing the plan was for him to walk up and discover his own bike’s artwork being created in front of one of the industry’s biggest audiences. Josh finished the bike after the event, timed to be ready for Jim’s birthday.

Result

A gift-driven build that became a live, public reveal at SEMA — a real-time demonstration of True Kustom’s airbrush work in front of industry attendees, not just a private commission.
