Charlie

Challenge
Charlie, an active-duty Army helicopter mechanic deployed around the world, invested in a build with True Kustom wanting something unique rather than an off-the-shelf custom job.
Approach
The centerpiece was a dropped-and-stretched version of the shop’s Big Ass Bags saddlebags, paired with a matching custom fender — the G8, built 8 inches down and 8 inches back for a longer, lower look — a configuration with nothing comparable on the market at the time. The saddlebags were custom-built with a matching drop and extension specifically to pair with the G8 fender’s proportions, not the stock dimensions.
Result
One of several builds where True Kustom developed genuinely new parts rather than reusing existing product lines — the kind of original engineering behind the shop’s lasting reputation. Charlie’s build remains the primary documented example of the G8 fender paired with matched Big Ass Bags.
