High Noon Solar
Challenge
High Noon Solar needed a way to identify and prioritize real solar-installation targets across Mesa County — both commercial and residential — instead of cold-canvassing blind. Once the targets existed, the second half of the problem was turning that list into an actual outreach campaign: a marketing angle and a physical piece to mail.
Approach
Built a GIS-based scraper against Mesa County parcel/installation data to identify every solar installation in the county, then segmented the results by value and type: commercial installations filtered from 962 candidates down to the 141 highest-value targets (including a 1,614-panel Walmart Pharmacy installation as a top data point), and residential leads ranked into a top-500 list by panel count plus four sequential outreach batches for staged campaign delivery.
From there, the engagement extended past the data itself — Josh developed the marketing premise for a postcard mailer campaign built on the segmented lead list, and designed the postcard and supporting flyer himself.
Result
Delivered and paid: the full lead dataset (5,947 county-wide records), the segmented commercial and residential target lists, and the postcard/flyer design, all in active use by the client. No customer feedback on mailer response or conversion has come back yet — that number isn’t on record, and this case study doesn’t claim one.
Lesson: a data tool is more valuable finished than half-finished — the scraper alone is a spreadsheet; pairing it with a real marketing premise and a piece of mail turned it into a campaign the client could actually run.
