Red Bluff Osprey

Challenge

Tehama Creatives secured grant funding for public art in Red Bluff — an investment in civic identity, not a private commission — and brought Josh in to give it visual form: something that spoke to the region’s identity along the Sacramento River.

Approach

Josh designed and painted a wildlife mural centered on the river’s fish and osprey — the wall reads as a piece of the landscape itself rather than a generic decorative treatment. It became the first of two grant-funded pieces for the same client; roughly two years later, Tehama Creatives brought Josh back for a second mural (Red Bluff Flicker) on the adjacent building.

Result

Completed and live as part of Red Bluff’s public art record. The repeat commission two years later is the clearest evidence of the result — a client who came back with new funding for a second piece on the next building over.
